Ten years ago, Lorival Francisco, 49, left his home in Joinville (SC), after suffering homophobic attacks from the neighborhood. Today, he lives inside an old car in a cemetery, in Garuva, 36 km distant. The story, which touched the internet, was told in the newspaper Folha Norte SC, last Tuesday (2).
“I’m a homosexual, you know, ‘fag’ … gay”, “Lori” told the newspaper. “I wanted to live here alone because of homophobia”.

According to the ND website, which covers the region, a cow held by the Reasons to Believe website is mobilizing donors to build a house for Lorival. To participate, simply access the kitty’s website. So far, the campaign has raised R$ 41 thousand.
“Lorival says that she never suffered discrimination from her family, but that the problem was the world around her, like the people at school and the neighbors”, summarizes the ND. “That’s why he left home, in Joinville, choosing to live alone even though he had nowhere to stay.”

With a piece of land received by his brother-in-law, construction is the only thing left for him to stop living in the cemetery.
