Last Thursday (28), the National Association of Transvestites and Transsexuals (ANTRA)<\/strong> delivered to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Norwegian Embassy the official document with data on violence and death against transvestites and Brazilian trans people. It is the 4th edition of the document. The information was collected in partnership with the Brazilian Trans Education Institute (IBTE).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The delivery was on the UNFPA Brasil channel on Youtube and can be watched here<\/a><\/strong>. Today, Friday (29), the National Day of Trans Visibility is celebrated. The importance of registration is, according to his own data, mainly in a scenario where Brazil maintains its position as the country that most murders transgender people for the 13th consecutive year.<\/p>\r\n

Kelly Simpson, President of the National Association of Transvestites and Transsexuals (ANTRA) and activist of the LGBT movement, and Bruna Benevides, secretary of Political Articulation of ANTRA and author of the Dossier of Murders and Violence against Trans-Brazilian People, present the study. Nils Martin, Ambassador to the Norwegian Embassy in Brazil, and Astrid Bant, representative of the United Nations Population Fund in Brazil, will be the representatives of the institutions receiving the document.<\/p>\r\n

The focus of the research is intentional and projected violence in the attack on gender and how it can effectively combat this bloody data with public policies. Furthermore, it discusses the location of cisgender people both as aggressors and in combating this reality.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Another topic covered in the research is the way in which crimes caused by transphobia are reported in most media in Brazil. According to ANTRA, the portrait of marginalized victims is often marginalized and their gender identity is erased. The concept of necro-Trans-politics<\/strong> is highlighted, which is the death of trans people as an action plan, not just a coincidence. 2020 was the year with the highest number of murders of transvestites and trans women since the first time the survey was carried out in the national territory.<\/p>\r\n
