The debate promoted on Friday night (27) by TV Globo between the two candidates for mayor of Rio, Eduardo Paes<\/strong> (DEM) and Marcelo Crivella<\/strong> (Republicans), was a permanent exchange of accusations and personal offenses, according to the newspaper Correio Braziliense<\/em>.<\/p>\n

When asking a question about diversity, Crivella said that Paes, if elected, will transform Rio into “the world capital of gay tourism”. Throughout the debate, the current mayor recalled Paes’ connection with Cabral – on one occasion, he even called him “Eduardo Cabral”, and Paes responded by calling his opponent “Crivella Witzel”, mention of the out-of-state governor From Rio, Wilson Witzel<\/strong> (PSC), who defeated Paes in the 2018 election.<\/p>\n

On the 19th, in a meeting with supporters, Crivella called the governor of S\u00e3o Paulo, Jo\u00e3o Doria<\/strong> (PSDB) “fag”<\/a>, and then apologized.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, when questioning a reform supposedly made by the city during the Paes administration in a public building, Crivella stated that “Cabral said (to Justice) that you (Paes) were there banquets, (with) expensive wines, when he turned 50 two drunks fell into the pool “.<\/em><\/p>\n

“Crivella knows he is lying, he is the father of lies, for four years he only accuses me, he cannot speak of a government proposal. He tries to have respect and submit proposals”<\/em>, accused Paes. “There is no way to escape from prison, the same thing that happened with Cabral will happen to him”, replied Crivella, who also accused Paes of doing the BRT (express bus corridor) “to steal” and “take R$ 240 million from children to give to Rio \u00d4nibus “. <\/em><\/p>\n

In closing, Crivella stated that Paes “does not even have the ethics of the bandit”<\/em> and will have problems when faced with “the final judgment”<\/em>. “I apologize (to the viewer) for this low-key show”<\/em>, said Paes at the end, referring to the opponent’s conduct.<\/p>\n
