Since launching the Pride<\/a><\/strong> line in June last year, with 7% of the net profit going to the NGO All Out<\/strong><\/a>, Havaianas<\/strong> has donated R$ 260 thousand to LGBTQIA+ causes.<\/p>\n

The NGO, which mobilizes thousands of people in defense of LGBTQIA+ rights, promotes campaigns around the world, ranging from petitions, press and social media actions, street protests or other actions, to collective financing campaigns.<\/p>\n

“We fight for a world where no one has to sacrifice their family or freedom, security or dignity, for being who they are or loving who they love”<\/em>, explains Leandro Ramos, regional director of All Out in Latin America, in a press release from Havaianas to the press.<\/p>\n

The money was obtained from the sale of more than 150 thousand units of products in the line, which included slippers, clothing and accessories and was launched in two waves, the first in June and the second in November.<\/p>\n

The funds allocated by Havaianas to All Out supported the implementation of several actions in 2020, including:<\/p>\n

Emergency support in Beirut: the campaign raised funds from around the world to guarantee emergency care for the LGBTQIA+ community after the great explosion that destroyed part of the capital of Lebanon, one of the nearly 70 countries that still criminalize homosexuality;<\/p>\n

Against attacks on LGBTQIA+ people in Poland: request for the European Union to take a stand against repeated attacks against the LGBTQIA+ community in Poland, the campaign carried out a major projection in the European Commission building in Brussels;<\/p>\n

A shelter for LGBTQIA+ youth in Mexico: the campaign has allowed Casa Frida, a shelter for LGBTQIA+ youth in Mexico City, not to interrupt its activities during the pandemic.<\/p>\n

In Brazil, among other actions, the support of Havaianas allowed All Out to carry out the Acolh LGBT+ project, which has already connected more than 500 LGBTQIA+ people who need psychological care with psychology professionals who want to serve them voluntarily.<\/p>\n
