Died this Friday morning (23), at the age of 73, the singer and transformist from Rio de Janeiro Jane di Castro<\/strong>, at the age of 73. The cause of death reported by the press was liver cancer.<\/p>\n

According to information from the newspaper O DIA<\/a>, Jane was married for 47 years to Ot\u00e1vio Bonfim and one of the defenders in the fight for the rights of the LGBTQI+ community.<\/p>\n

Alongside big names in the gay scene such as Rog\u00e9ria<\/strong>, Camille K<\/strong>, Leopard Eloin<\/strong> and Brigitte from B\u00fazios<\/strong>, among others, debuted the show Divinas Divas<\/a> in 2004, which was on display for 10 years. The show recalled the trajectory of transvestites and transformers from Copacabana – a story that can be seen in a documentary of the same name by Leandra Leal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Jane is on the air in the replay of TV Globo’s soap opera \u201cThe Power of Wanting\u201d. In the story of Gl\u00f3ria Perez<\/strong> she is a transformer who, along with the actor Silvero Pereira<\/strong>, performs shows like Elis Miranda, inspired by Jane, reports the newspaper Extra<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During an interview, at the time, Jane was happy to be able to participate in the soap opera and defend LGBTQ+ causes. “My generation led the way, took to the streets.
