Australian actor Hugh Sheridan<\/strong> (35), known for the Packed to the Rafters<\/em> series, told Stellar Magazine<\/a> that he has had relationships with men, but says he does not like to label himself bisexual.<\/p>\n

“After moving to Sydney to join NIDA, I finally met a guy I connected with emotionally, mentally and physically”<\/em> – he said – “I was ‘on the moon’, I could finally be what people always wanted me to be, so I told everyone. In return, I was told that if I were anything less straight, I would never find work and that I would need hide my love “. <\/em><\/p>\n

Still according to him, the two men who said he should hide his attraction to people of the same gender were openly gay:<\/strong> “To add to the confusion, the two mentors who told me this were openly gay. They were trying to protect me and really wanted the best for me. That was just the reality.”<\/em><\/p>\n

With the end of his relationship with a man, Hugh Sheridan<\/strong> fell in love with a woman and said he felt embarrassed to make the romance public, especially since loved ones knew that the previous relationship was gay. He says that he did not want to expose his intimate life, but he implies that, in this way, he provides a service for those who do not like to “label” themselves: “In many ways, I wish I didn’t have to write this, but I feel a responsibility to others who may come after me.” <\/em><\/p>\n

He also says that he decided to expose his sexuality after a long process of reflection<\/strong> during the quarantine.<\/p>\n

“I never felt like I really knew who I was and I didn’t like the sounds of the labels people were giving me, so I decided to say nothing”<\/em> – he said – “But the block [se referindo a quarentena provocada pela pandemic do coronav\u00edrus] gave me time to reflect and it occurred to me that no one ever defends people who don’t choose a label.” <\/em><\/p>\n
