‘Rotting in the Sun’ brings the gay universe to light, featuring nudist beaches and self-obsession

The feature filmRotting in The Sun”, directed by the Chilean filmmaker Sebastián Silva, is now available for streaming in Brazil on MUBI.The film, classified as a comedy, aims to satirize the film industry and the culture of self-obsession.

“Rotting in the sun” – Disclosure

The plot follows the depressed director Sebastián Silva, played by himself, as he unwinds in a gay coastal town. There, he meets the outgoing Instagram influencer Jordan Firstman, also playing a version of himself, and reluctantly, Silva agrees to collaborate with Firstman on an upcoming project.

However, when Jordan arrives in Mexico City, he can’t find the director Sebastian anywhere, triggering a completely unpredictable detective journey.

With production handled by Jacob Wasserman, responsible for films such as “The Eyes of My Mother” and “Tyrel”, “Rotting in The Sun” features the writer and social media sensation as its protagonists, Jordan Firstman, in their first leading role, and the talented Catalina Saavedra, known for her work in “The Handmaiden“.
