Kiosks in Rio charge R$ 1,000 for open bar services at Madonna’s show

As the pop star Madonna‘s free concert in Rio de Janeiro approaches, the kiosks on Copacabana Beach have already started preparing to serve the public. The city predicts to have similar organisation as in New Year´s Eve, offering open bar services and chairs at prices that exceed one thousand reais.

According to Veja Rio portal, some kiosk owners are already selling their spaces in advance. One of them is Cabanna, a close point to Posto 2 and with the capacity for 120 people. The has already sold one third of its tickets, charging R$1100 each package that includes drinks, snacks and security.

Areia MPB, another nearby kiosk with the capacity for 400 people, sold more than half of its tickets with the price of R$800. The difference in this kiosk, in view of the previous one, is that it will feature DJ performances.

Tourism in Rio de Janeiro

According to data from the ForwardKeys platform, which provides travel data and is published by Embratur, there are 7,500 airline tickets issued from other countries to Brazil. The highlights are Argentina and Chile, which recorded 20.4% and 14.1% of sales, respectively. Others on the list are the United States, with 12.7%, France, with 11% and the United Kingdom, representing 6.4%.

Furthermore, the demand for hotels for the period increased considerably in Rio de Janeiro. It is expected that by the day of the concert 100% occupancy will be filled. Currently, this number stands at 70%.

Madonna’s show in Brazil takes place on 4th May, at Copacabana Beach, in Rio de Janeiro. The show is expected to start at 9:30 pm with live tv broadcast by Globo TV. The performance marks the end of “The Celebration Tour” which celebrates the “Queen of Pop’s 40-year career.
