On November 5, the entire LGBTQIA+ community celebrates an important achievement: the anniversary of State Law No. 10,948 / 01, which punishes discrimination based on sexual orientation and / or gender identity. To celebrate the important victory achieved 19 years ago, the Shopping Light embraces a new partnership with the Secretariat of Justice and Citizenship, through the Coordination of Policies for Sexual Diversity, and illuminates the facade of one of the most emblematic buildings in the Historic Center with the seven colors of the LGBTQIA+ flag.

Partnership with state agencies is yet another way to encourage what matters most: unity and fighting prejudice. The project of the Secretariat of Justice and Citizenship, through the Coordination of Policies for Sexual Diversity, foresees the adhesion of companies, civil society entities and public power in a positioning favorable to sexual and gender diversity as a way of giving visibility to the Law, valuing the channels of denunciation and engaging civil society in the fight against LGBTphobia.
The initiative to support the action is in line with Gazit Brazil’s project “All for one“, managed by Shopping Light, which carries out various social actions throughout the year and is committed to being a transforming agent in society. The campaign follows the company’s philosophy and encourages the entire community to come together for others.
The State of São Paulo is a pioneer in the adoption of public policies to fight LGBTphobia, being an important reference to other similar legislation in Brazil. The Secretariat of Justice and Citizenship accepts complaints of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity through its Ombudsman through the website http://www.justica.sp.gov.br.
