On Monday afternoon (11), Anitta denounced the attack on the paymaster of PT, Marcelo Arruda, who was shot and killed in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná. Furthermore, she declared her vote for former President Lula – who is also a presidential candidate in the 2022 elections.
Arruda was celebrating his birthday last Saturday night (9) when he was shot by Jorge Guaranho, who on social media identifies himself as a supporter of Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The reason for the attack was that the treasurer had the PT was the theme of his party.
On her Twitter profile, the singer made a series of posts about the matter. “ifthere wasn’t a death involved in this case of a Lula supporter being attacked by a Bolsonaro supporter, I would say that the ignorance of these individuals is almost comical. But no. It’s terrifying indeed“, wrote Anitta.
“That’s very good. You mentioned on social media that you wouldn’t support Lula in the elections because you wanted something new and different, aiming for a middle ground between the ideals of both sides of the population, and to truly try something different from what we’ve had in the past.“,The singer explained.
“From this moment on, I am “Lulalá” in the first round. And I will fight for something new in Brazilian presidential politics in the upcoming elections“, declared the singer. “And for Voldemort’s little soldiers who came to say, “Go defend the ex-convict”. That’s right, ex-convict? Exactly, because an ex-convict is also a person, and one of my political beliefs is that the Brazilian prison system should provide opportunities for inmates to learn new things“, she added.

In one of her tweets, Anitta said that she has never been a member of the Workers’ Party (PT), but this year, she is willing to use her influence to assist Lula in the electoral campaign. “[…] This year, I’m with Lula, and anyone who wants my help to make him trend on the internet, TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, just ask, and if it’s within my reach and not against electoral law, I’ll do it “.
After the series of posts, a fan expressed concern about what Bolsonaro’s supporters might say or do to her. “I couldn’t care less about these people. Go ahead and do your worst, honey… you’ll turn me into a martyr forever. Will you do something to my family? You’ll become an eternal shadowy mafia. A population can’t live under authoritarianism for long. It’s historical“, wrote Anitta.
Lula took the opportunity and thanked the singer for her support. On Twitter, he retweeted one of Anitta’s tweets and wrote, “Let’s together engage Brazil“. In a survey conducted by the FSB Institute, commissioned by BTG Pactual bank and released on Monday (11), the former president appears with 41% of the vote intentions in the 1st round. Bolsonaro, on the other hand, has 32%. The other candidates scored less than 10%.
