Last sunday 24, after the performance at Lollapalooza, a music festival in São Paulo, Sam Smith was spotted in a McDonalds restaurant, in the capital of the state. The moment was recorded by a fan and posted on the social platform X, formerly Twitter. The artist wore a black long-sleeved blouse, skirt and high-heeled sandals.

The restaurant is Méqui 1000, which is located in a historic mansion on Avenida Paulista, in the capital São Paulo. In the video, Sam waits in line to pick up the snack while chatting with friends.

When asked about taking photos with the star, the owner of the video said he almost got scolded by Smith’s team, as the artist wanted privacy. In the comments, several internet users discussed that it is quite common for artists to prefer a fast-food restaurant to one with local food, for fear of getting sick due to the way the food is made.

Others went further, exemplifying and criticizing: “From the foreigners I worked with, simply ALL of them were advised by friends and even physicians to only eat at American fast-foods and only drink water from a sealed bottle or glass when they were in Brazil. Sometimes it’s not simplicity, it’s just disgust with ‘3rd world food’”. However, Sam Smith has not commented on this.

Show of Sam Smith in Brazil

For the second time, Sam Smith came to Brazil to participate in an edition of Lollapalooza. His show took place this Sunday, on the Samsung Galaxy stage, and excited the large audience that came to honor him, with several songs from his career, among the old and the newest such as “Stay With Me”, “I’m Not The Only One” and “I’m Not To Good at Goodbyes”. However, the stage boiled with an iconic performance of “Unrolly”, expected by many fans.

During the show, there were several messages of affection exchanged with fans, in which Sam thanked them for all their support: “I want to say to all of you from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for being with me all these years! For believing in me and my music, even with everything that has happened in my life for all this time”. He also highlighted the essence of his shows, which reinforce the idea of freedom to be, wear and sing whatever he wants.

Her looks followed the vibe of the songs, which ranged from upbeat hits to more melancholic songs. Their outfits varied in pants, dresses, and corset, with black as a highlight in the color palette.

Sam Smith’s last visit to Brazil took place in 2019, also at Lollapalooza from that year. Before that, he played a show in 2015, at the Rock in Rio festival.
