LGBT public wins electronic booklet designed to prevent covid-19
The Municipal Health Secretariat (SMS) of the city of Salvador, in Bahia, is making available an electronic booklet with guidelines for the prevention of covid-19 especially to the LGBT public.
“Bearing in mind that health emergency scenarios tend to aggravate the vulnerabilities to which certain social segments that experience social exclusion and daily violence are exposed, as is the case of the LGBT population, it is important to provide materials with information in a language accessible to group”, said Erik Abade, SMS technician at the LGBT Health Thematic Field (via AIDS Agency).
The electronic booklet also has information for care and practices to reduce damage to mental, physical and sexual health, the list of emergency care units and Specialized Care Services. The project, on the other hand, was developed in partnership with the Multidisciplinary Outpatient Clinic for Transvestites and Transsexuals, the Trans for Front Collective and the Center for the Promotion and Defense of LGBT Rights in Bahia.

TRANS ACTIVIST DIES FOR COVID-19
On June 23, LGBTQIA + activist Amanda Marfree died as a result of Covid-19. She worked at the Diversity Reference and Defense Center in São Paulo and was a pre-candidate for city councilor.
According to actress Renata Carvalho, Amanda recently tested Covid-19 and was negative, but a few days later she started to feel sick and had to be hospitalized.
As one of the first beneficiaries of the Transcidadania program during Fernando Haddad’s term as mayor, Amanda Marfree managed to finish high school and has since started helping other vulnerable trans women.
She received the diploma of honor to the merit with the conclusion of her studies at the Padre Antão State School, being one of the best classified in the 2015 Enem.
