American singer Selena Gomez hired a Brazilian choreographer for the video for “Selfish Love”, her partnership with DJ Snake, according to the POPline website.
The chosen one was Eddy Soares, the dancer who makes the robot for “Turbo Mode”, a single from Luísa Sonza with Anitta and Pabllo Vittar. Born in São Gonçalo and currently living in São Paulo, Eddy was contacted by email.
“The invitation came out of an indication. The director of photography for this clip was the same as “Are U Gonna Tell Her?’ By Tove Lo. I was the protagonist of the Tove Lo video, I danced and choreographed, so they got to know my work through this video. Then they went after my content, my Instagram, got my email and got in touch ”, Eddy told POPline.
The email arrived in early December 2020 and he had to keep it a secret all along.

“It was difficult, see? Such a great novelty! I was very, very, very happy ”, says the choreographer, who saw“ The Wizards of Waverly Place ”when he was a teenager.
Unfortunately, Eddy Soares had no contact with Selena Gomez. Her parts in the clip were already recorded. He did his part in São Paulo himself.
