As actor Wentworth Miller, a former Prison Break star, has never been seen with a boyfriend since coming out in 2013, the English tabloid The Sun launched his bet: Canadian actor Luke Macfarlane was chosen. The newspaper is based on fan speculation and on the Distractify website.
Miller and Macfarlane did not address any rumors about their romance, but both cited concerns about how their sexual orientation would impact their careers.
In 2008, Macfarlane told Canada’s Globe and Mail that “I don’t know what will happen professionally. That’s the fear, but I don’t think I can really worry about what’s going to happen because it’s my truth. “
Macfarlane is best known for playing Scotty Wendell on ABC’s Brothers and Sisters.
Wentworth Miller, in addition to being an actor, is an American-British screenwriter. He is most notable for his role as Michael Scofield in Prison Break, for which he won a Golden Globe in 2005.
How did Miller come out?
Miller came out in 2013 in an open letter to the National Film Festival in St. Petersburg, Russia.
He rejected the invitation to the festival based on Russia’s disturbing attitude towards gay men and women, writing:
“As a gay man, I must refuse.”
“I am deeply concerned by the current attitude and the treatment of gay men and women by the Russian government. The situation is by no means acceptable and I cannot, in good conscience, participate in a celebration organized by a country where people like I are being systematically denied their basic right to live and love openly. “
No more straight papers!
Yesterday, Miller accessed Instagram to reveal that he would no longer play Michael Scofield in Prison Break, as Scofield is directly on the show. “I just don’t want to play heterosexual characters. Their stories have been told (and told).”
