Le Boy was founded in 1992 by the French businessman Gilles Lascar, who insisted on staying at the reception, greeting people and following everything closely. Although there are several gay clubs in the wonderful city, Le Boy soon became one of the most traditional and famous, where it presented drag queens (dubbing and humor) shows, boys contest and gogo boys.

Inspired by the 1970s, the decor featured many mirrors, globes and antique sofas over the three floors, in a space of 1000 m². The go-go boys danced on “cheeses” located at the ends of the bar. There was a dark room upstairs that caught fire until dawn The house also had a powerful sound system.

During the carnival, with a special program, the house filled up, mainly of gringos who came to know the energy of the (gay) people of Rio up close – and also call-girls who were present in the most libertine season of the city.

Countless national and international celebrities passed by, some anonymously and others not so much, standing out: Henry Cavill, Vera Fischer (who ended up on the dance floor), Calvin Klein, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Valentino, Ruppert Everet, Katy Perry and Rihanna (when both came to Brazil to do some shows).

Other celebrities who have already been present were: Susana Vieira, Dercy Gonçalves, Perla (Paraguayan singer), Rogéria and several other famous and also famous people that we cannot name, as they have not yet come out of the closet. Well-known drags also performed regularly there, Lorna Washington, Rose Bombom, Suzy Brasil and several others.

Unfortunately, in 2016, the traditional Le Boy closed its doors, marking the end of an era after almost 25 years of existence. At the time, its sale with a closed gate (all inclusive) was R$ 18 million. Today, on the website of a real estate company, it is possible to see the ad for a lower price, R$ 14,500 million. Who is excited to buy this beautiful property?
