The former Feiticeira Joana Prado and the athlete Victor Belfort lost their sponsorship of the supplement brand “Garden Of Life” after getting involved in the unisex bathroom controversy, in which Prado shared a video on Instagram complaining that there was no gender differentiation in an establishment located in Florida, United States. The information is from the Isto É.

“Do I go into the bathroom here with my daughter (she shows, pointing to one of the toilet booths) while there’s a man next door? It’s scary, right? What do you think of this?”, she asked fans in the video posted on October 5th.

Then, Belfort commented the post: “This is a disgrace. I confess that I don’t go to this place anymore. Honey, that’s the pure devil. Let’s protect”.

After the repercussion of the case, Joana Prado decided to manifest itself by publishing a new video saying that she had no intention of being transphobic, that the message is being distorted, and that she doesn’t care about losing sponsorship with companies of different values than hers.

“The video was never intended to be transphobic or homophobic. (…) I even have a trans person in my family, whom I love with all my heart. My message is far from being against these people. The fact that I am a Christian never gives me the right to do that. My Jesus is the father who loves, who respects and who never points the finger”, begins Joana.

“My message is from a mother concerned about the safety of her daughters, as they may be sharing a public restroom with a man, and at risk of being molested or even raped. My fight is against pedophilia, abuse, sexual violence. I cannot admit that my 12 and 13 year old daughters are at risk. I have at least three girlfriends who were sexually abused when they were little – including one of them is gay. My fight is so that together we can prevent this from continuing to happen”, she continues.

“As many of you know, my sister-in-law has been missing for 20 years and we don’t know if she was kidnapped, abused or sold into the sex industry. You who have a good conscience understood my message. I hope you will stand up and fight me against this. I’m not worried about your sexual choice, your color or your beliefs. But with awareness of sexual violence. From the trafficking of people that generates trillions through the industry of the century”, she continues.

“If companies that sponsor me are more concerned with the environment than with the care and protection of human beings, my family and I don’t want to be with these companies. I want to be with good companies and people who fight for the same causes. And that together we will be seeing a victory against sexual violence and human trafficking. I love you all, I owe no one satisfaction, but this fight is mine, and it’s against these people who suffer. Let’s end human trafficking”, ends.
