The game World of Warcraft will become more inclusive for the LGBTQIA+ community in the future with the Shadowlands expansion, including a trans character and the possibility to change the gender of your in-game hero. The information came from an interview with the developers Steve Danuser and Johnny Cash to the site Techradar.
Both of them said that there will be several content targeted at the LGBTQIA+ public, including a gay romance between the Kul Tiran sailor Flynn Fairwind and the spymaster Mathias Shaw.
“We have a team with a lot of different people” – says Danuser – “and with several points of view and experiences, hence why it’s so important that we tell stories that reflect our concerns, making Azeroth [O mundo onde se passa o jogo] a welcoming [um ambiente] and representative place with different points of view. Whoever you are, there will be a place for you in this world”.
Danuser also says that he doesn’t want to “stop there” and that he will look for more ways to allow an increasing representation in the future inside World of Warcraft.
The Shadowlands expansion would launch on October 26, but it has been postponed to a date yet to be revealed, however there is a promise that it will arrive in 2020.

With social transformations throughout the years, gay, lesbian, bisexual, non-binary characters and other several orientations began to gain more importance and relevance. Nowadays there are games with LGBT protagonists and we see the opposite: the characters are ever more present and seen with naturalness. Keep reading.
